Barriers and Facilitators to Providing Assistive Technologies to Children with Disabilities in Afghanistan

This report displays the findinds from a Case study that focused on explaining the (low) levels of AT provision in Afghanistan. The focus of this research was on providers rather than recipients of AT services. Informants included programme managers, implementation staff, policy leads, health, education and child protection advisers, advocacy leads and other experts with a role in the programme provision for children with disabilities. Semi-structured interviews were conducted to build on the evidence in the literature, and to understand the factors affecting AT provision in Afghanistan. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, interviews were conducted remotely.
