In this new report, ATscale describes the enormous gains that access to assistive technology (AT) can have in health, for the community and the economy. The figures are dramatic: investment in the provision of four assistive products – hearing aids, prostheses, eyeglasses, and wheelchairs – will result in a return on investment of 9:1.
Innovative Technologies for Inclusive Education

This publication, a key output of the UNESCO–Chengdu project Integrating Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovations to Strengthen Inclusion and Equity in Education in Africa, explores the transformative impact of ICT, AI, and assistive technologies (AT) in enhancing inclusion and equity in education for persons with disabilities and special educational needs (SEN). Highlighting the experiences of resource centers (RCs) worldwide, it showcases innovative applications such as adaptive learning tools, communication aids, and sensory devices that improve educational access, personalize learning, and foster social integration.
