Situational Analysis of the rights of persons with disabilities in Cook Islands. Country Report
This United Nations Partnership on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNPRPD), MultiPartner Trust Fund (MPTF) Situational Analysis Report 2021, Arāngatū Me Okota’i, is a highlevel assessment of the rights of PWDs in the Cook Islands. Determining the barriers and bottlenecks to full and meaningful participation for PWDs, it provides baseline evidence to contribute to the future development of joint programmes to advance the rights of persons with disabilities as outlined in the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). This report documents the current status to fulfilling the CRPD’s preconditions; equality and non discrimination, accessibility, inclusive service delivery, CRPD compliant budgeting, and financial management, accountability and governance, and meaningful participation for persons with disabilities, as well as the cross-cutting approaches; gender equality, the inclusion of under represented groups, and full and effective participation of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), across all sectors.
